One who has no craving, who through knowledge, is free from doubts, who has gained a firm footing in the Deathless(Nibbana), him I call a Brahman.


執着を見い出せず、[四聖諦を]開悟して、疑い無く、不死の深奥に到達せる彼を、私は婆羅門[＝阿羅漢]と言う。

One who has no desires in the world or in the next, who is free from craving and from moral defilements, him I call a Brahman.


この世において、あるいは来世においても、欲望を見い出せず、[世俗的な]願望がなく、離縛せる彼を、私は婆羅門[＝阿羅漢]と言う。
