One who in this world takes nothing that is not given, be it long or short, small or great, beautiful or ugly, him I call a Brahman.


それが長きもの、あるいは短きもの、あるいは微少なもの、粗大なもの、清浄不浄なもの[であろうとも]、この世間において与えられぬものを取らざる彼を、私は婆羅門[＝阿羅漢]と言う。

One who utters gentle, instructive and true words, offending no one by his speech, him I call a Brahman.


粗暴でなく、わかりやすく、真実の語を語り、誰に対しても感情を害しない彼を、私は婆羅門[＝阿羅漢]と言う。
