第1偈
All mental phenomena have mind as their forerunner: they have mind as
their chief; they are mind-made. If one speaks or acts with an evil
mind, suffering "dukkha" follows him just as the wheel follows the
hoof-print if the ox that draws the craft.
[心に関するすべての]法は、心が先立ち、心が最上の[主]であり、心よりなる。人、汚れた心で話したり、行なったり、[考えたり]すれば、荷車をひく[牛の]足を追う車輪の如く、苦しみ、その人についてくる。
